"Dirt is the Price of Interesting"
In response to someone commenting that New York City was dirty, NPR's Maureen Corrigan responded, "Dirt is the price you pay for a place being interesting." Substitute the word "life" for "place" and add discomfort, uncertainty, doubt, stress, and danger to that statement. The more people I've talked to, the more I've learned that stability = mundane, and dynamicism/abnormality = interesting. There are positive and negative aspects to both, and you just have to choose what you want more: an interesting party story or a steady income. My preference? Life is short. Jump off the cliff and see what happens.
