For privacy reasons, I'm not going to include photos of everything,
but I will share some of my favorites.
The kitchen and bathroom were custom-tiled by Cindy's brother,
made with scenes of Tucson and the ocean.
This was waiting for me in my room when I first arrived.
My room that Cindy put together for me <3
Photo on the right: that's a skylight on the ceiling :-D
A street near my house.
This is a very large "wash" (where the water runs when it floods). I'm looking across the width of it to the walking bridge on the other side. To my right is another bridge for the cars.
The wash has paths where you can walk or bike along it.
Me.
There are several trails in this part of town.
There you have it: the area of my new home.
Amy, I found your blog as I was perusing youtube for Tucson scenes to share with a friend who lives in Italy. I'm a Tucsonan who now lives in Phoenix. I grew up near 4th Avenue and 22nd Street, attended the Cathedral, Tucson High and UA.
ReplyDeleteI am really enjoying the way you've captured the spirit and art of the city. One thing about Tucson--there's always art somewhere.
If you haven't had a chance already, I recommend going south on 4th avenue between 22nd and 29th street. There's some really nice metal, tile and mural work down that street, which didn't exist there when I was growing up. There are also awesome Mexican restaurants.
Thanks for sharing your Tucson experience.
Eva, I'm really glad you enjoy reading my blog - thanks for stopping by! I haven't checked out that area yet, but I will put it on my list. Thanks :)
