The Creative Race

I am a product of everyone who has entered my life, and I realize that. Their opinions – even though I’m not around most of them – dictate who I am and what I do. They hang over my head and shape my perception. It’s taken me an entire year, but I think I’m finally starting to push it all off. I don’t blame them, though. Several of them have been truly transformative and inspirational in my life.  If I truly do what I want, it won’t matter what those people - or anyone, including those I admire - think of me. I’ll take myself completely out of the race and start a new one…where creativity leads the way. Then, my life won’t be about winning and losing. It will be about being me.
